Flint Fire – The Keith Flint Prodigy Tribute Band: The Factory Live, 9 May 2026.
The Prodigy are an English electronic dance music band formed in Braintree in 1990 by producer, keyboardist and songwriter Liam Howlett. At their commercial and critical peak, the group also included MC and vocalist Maxim, dancer and occasional live keyboardist Leeroy Thornhill, and dancer and occasional vocalist Keith Flint. The Prodigy have been described by AllMusic as “the premiere dance act for the alternative masses” and “the Godfathers of Rave”. The Prodigy have sold an estimated 25 million records worldwide, including over 4.7 million albums in the UK, and have achieved seven consecutive UK number one albums. Sadly in March 2019, Keith Flint died at his home in Essex. The group continued under Howlett’s direction.

Flint Fire – The Keith Flint Prodigy Tribute Band are exactly what they say they are on the tin, a tribute outfit. They hit that sweet spot of you not knowing if you were listening to the originals. They are spot on, they are loud, they are fast, they are accurate and they made The Factory Live jump, jump, jump! Back to the 90’s we go!

Let me just say that the definitely required atmospheric intense thick smoke, the strong backlighting and strobe effects made it tricky to grab clear photos, no apologies on that front, it was definitely a requirement for these guys. It was brilliant to be there and soak up that Prodigy vibe. I was chatting to the drummer before their set, damn he was good, explained I had been a DJ in Brighton at the time of Fire starter. I had gotten into trouble for playing it as it didn’t fit with the music policy of the venue!
Flint Fire – The Keith Flint Prodigy Tribute Band pays tribute to the late frontman with silhouettes of the band in the smoke of replicating the sights and sounds of the Keith Flint era and his iconic performances and videos with The Prodigy, and, as I witnessed tonight, they generated emotional audience participation and reaction. It was joyous!

The Set
The mammoth set from Flint Fire started off with We Live Forever, Rok Weiler, Omen and Warrior Dance. These four highly talented musicians put it all down straight. It can be described, I will do my best, as pure chaos, fast and loud, and watching the crowd dance it must have been physically demanding for the band almost as much as it was for us.
They set about to getting people to move with the set opener, Tick! Job done.

The Factory was filled with people who wanted to remember those years gone by or just wanted to enjoy a Saturday night out. The set went on to include the wonderful Breathe and Colours. Tonight’s Factory crowd is made up of all ages, some fine T Shirts and 90’s dance gear on display and a wonderful mix from ravers to punk rockers. Everyone came together to generate the steam heat and a breath-taking party atmosphere.

I am not going to list the full set, you are gonna have to go see these guys live for yourself! Rest assured the big hitters are there, FireStarter, Smack My Bitch Up and Voodoo People.

The vocals linked with the stage presence and antics were stunning, keeping the spirit of Flint alive onstage. The guitar screamed at us with some superb playing, at the back almost lost in the smoke were the keyboards etc, all the tech was brilliantly handled. At the back, the drums, wow! He treated us to some stunning fills and complementing the electronics with breakbeat patterns, all so strong and highlighted for example in Smack. Founder Liam Howlett describes the Prodigy style as electro punk, and Flint Fire came together and hit the spot exactly.

All the songs were there, no fillers! Song of the night for me was the outstanding version of Out Of Space. This was brilliantly put together by Flint Fire and the 200 approx voices in the crowd joining in with the reggae/ska infused lyrics was simply amazing, “I’m gon’ send him to outer space, to find another race”, you really had to be there!

As the set came to a close, the energy levels on stage had not diminished in the slightest! Flint Fire fired it up with Need Some1 and Invaders Must Die, sending the standing crowd into a bout of total danced up pandemonium. Flint Fire delivered an electrifying performance on many levels and delivered a fitting Keith Flint tribute.
