U2BABY – The Factory Live – 05/09/2025

U2BABY are the U2 tribute band from the west of London that are flown IN to Dublin for fan events when U2 are playing in town. Such is their reputation for delivering an authentic U2 show that their clients include famous venues such as Sporting Club Monaco, Mad Club Lausanne, The Half Moon in Putney and the Cavern Club in Liverpool. They have also played at festivals such as Thunder in the Glens, Poole Harbour Festival, 80sFest, Glastonbarry, Undercover Festival in Warsaw, Tribfest Bahrain and many more…

Ok, so let’s get this straight, straight off the bat, U2BABY simply dazzled the sold out packed in crowd in Worthing at The Factory Live. Musically, they proved that they are among the best live tribute acts doing the touring circuit full of tribute outfits. Also the burning question, do they sound like U2? I can confirm that yes, they do! The guitars were stunning, The Edge could well have been on the stage tonight, the sounds were that good.

U2BABY: THE SET

U2BABY set the mood for the evening with David Bowie’s “Space Oddity,” the song blasting through the sound system speakers and marking the band’s entrance. U2 had used this track to open their gigs. They last played at The Factory just over a year ago,

The band came together on the stage in traditional rock band formation, to play a classic set full of tracks from the U2 back catalogue.

U2BABY: Desire!

So the strongest moments of the night came for me came tucked up in four solid rockers: Beautiful Day, and Vertigo during which our “Bono” added some extra vocal slices. I thought Elevation would have slotted in there perfectly, but clearly not on the set list tonight. The wonderful Desire, the song lifted from Rattle And Hum. Also an early song Pride (In The Name Of Love) was an absolute belter delivered on point.  Damn these guys were good.

From the start it was clear there was going to be lots of audience participation, “Bono” continually asking us to join in, we didn’t need to be asked, it just happened! For U2BABY the sound is important, the look is important, but ultimately they recreate the feeling of an old school live U2 gig. The members of the U2 tribute band U2BABY are Richard Peace as Bono, Simon Peace as The Edge, Jon Couling as Larry Mullen Jr., and Zoltan Czibere as Adam Clayton.

The U2BABY versions of Edge, Mullen and Clayton, for the most part spent the bulk of the show comfortably in the shadows, playing dynamically and as a well-tuned and rehearsed unit, a true rocking quartet, They left the crowd engagement to “Bono” alone, as he shook hands, fist bumped, handed out plectrums and later left the stage and mingled with the crowd. Edge didn’t step out and play long solos in the spotlight as so many rock guitarists are prone to do, he did move back to play the keyboards, there was no drum solo.

Set opening numbers tonight included: I Will Follow, Out Of Control, The Electric Co, Gloria, and Still Haven’t Found.

U2BABY performed a strong set that includes songs from the many U2 albums, alongside other massive hits and a couple deep cuts, they were for me but the majority of the crowd knew ALL the songs. The music of U2 was described as sounding “fresh, new, and powerful,” and U2BABY captured it perfectly.

Despite the lack of the massive scale of the visuals put up by U2, this band’s prowess and  tightly knitted performance, and “Bono’s” at times larger than life stage presence ensured they entertained the packed in Factory crowd.

Other notable tracks performed live included: In Gods Country, Bullet In The Blue Sky, Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Years Day, The Fly and Mysterious Ways.

U2BABY: ONE

The magnificent One brought everyone together. Amazing how this song unites both band and audience in a defiant celebration of togetherness. A stunning recreation of that song, and hats off to the crowd for the voices singing loud!

U2BABY: BAD

We also had Bad, this one again delivered totally on point, who can forget the Live Aid performance of this one and we had the snippets of those additional songs thrown in.

The set closed with With Or Without You. The crowd realising it was all coming to a close sang their hearts out as “Bono” joined us in the crowd. Magnificent stuff!

Their mission is to bring the magic of U2’s live music to everyone, including those who might not have the chance to see the iconic band in person. Tonight U2BABY – Mission Accomplished! U2BABY is not just a nostalgia act and simply must be experienced at least once live if you have not seen U2 live. These guys will raise the hairs on the back of your neck.

Safe to say we all had a great time at The Factory Live. All the staff were very helpful and welcoming as they always are. This is a great venue for music, club nights or comedy! Nicely done guys! Experience The Factory Live! A 285 capacity live music venue situated in the heart of Worthing on the South Coast. They recently announced they were awarded Live Music Venue of the year in West Sussex 2024/2025. Congratulations from Scene Sussex, well deserved.
