Vinyl Revolution
With a heavy heart it is sad to report that Vinyl Revolution in Brighton closes its doors. We at Scene Sussex love this store and have clocked up many happy hours browsing through the second hand vinyl, looking through new releases and the wonderful Record Store Day events and in store performances. The staff in there were superb, helpful and always happy to offer advices and Simon always happy to share his views on music and bands.
The Team at Vinyl Revolution have put together a video to try and explain the reason for the truly heartbreaking situation they must be in. Brightons Caroline Lucas, Vinyl Revolutions local MP has a message in the video. Please watch the video from Vinyl Revolution…
From Vinyl Revolution:
“ We are devastated to announce that WE ARE CLOSING OUR BRIGHTON SHOP this weekend. Our last trading day will be Saturday (13 July).
We are extremely angry about events which have forced us to close our Brighton shop and have made a video, featuring our local MP Caroline Lucas, telling our story and explaining why things desperately need to change. We’ve also set up a petition asking the government to stop ignoring the retail crisis and to take action.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ, SIGN AND SHARE OUR PETITION WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW. IF WE DON’T ACT SOON THE ONLY SHOPS LEFT ON THE HIGH STREET WILL BE CHAINS!“
PLEASE SIGN AND PLEASE SHARE WITH EVERYONE!!!

The team noted on their facebook page “THANK YOU EVERYONE for your lovely comments. They mean a lot. For those that haven’t watched the video to the end WE HAVE LOST THE SHOP BUT NOT THE BUSINESS. This is a major setback for us but our online shop and pop ups will continue and grow. WE ARE DOWN BUT WE ARE NOT OUT!!!!“

I am sorry to see this wonderful shop close. I will miss it, not only for the vinyl but also the wonderful staff especially Simon and Rachel who have become friends and always enjoyed popping in to see you. Sorry I cant get in on your last day – am about to jet off on holiday. Much love to you both and hopefully you will bounce back. Good luck with your ventures and look forward to seeing you rise above the hand you guys have been dealt. You have a large customer base who no doubt will be watching to see how you are doing online and with the pop up shops.
And finally from Rachel and Simon:
“We are down, and we can’t pretend that this isn’t a major setback, but we are most definitely not out!”
