Georgia at Resident Records in Brighton 10/01/2020
Georgia, is an English record producer, songwriter, singer, and drummer. The daughter of Leftfield cofounder Neil Barnes, Georgia began her music career as a drummer for artists such as Kwes and Kate Tempest. She began her career as a singer and record producer with the release of her debut studio album Georgia (2015). Her second studio album Seeking Thrills was released in January 2020 and that was the reason we were in store tonight. .
A special performance…
This was indeed a special performance for the lovers of Georgia music to see her perform, meet her and get an album signed. I got there about 30 minutes before it started so was able to get a good spot.

I have to admit I had not heard anything from Georgia before. That will not happen again. Fans young and old were there to listen to this set. I have to congratulate Resident Records on this event and it was good to see younger members of the audience got a good view. Georgia stepped into something that resembled the bridge of the Starship Enterprise, plugged her leads into the equipment, and we were off for a 30 minute musical journey.

The Set…
24 Hours / Never Let You Go / The Thrill / About Work The Dancefloor / Started Out.
A good few album tracks have been released as singles already and right up to the most recent one, 24 Hours, which opened up her set.

A young lad at the front was clearly having the time of his life. Georgia spotted him and passed him a drum stick and got him to join in with some cymbal work for About Work The Dancefloor . Brilliant stuff Georgia! I saw the lad heading off afterwards clutching his new prized possessions. No doubt a fan for life! The Dancefloor track had everyone buzzing along to the warm synths and drums. I have to say Georgia had one of the tallest cymbals I had ever seen. It towered over all of us and was quite a reach for her to reach and hit.

The residents of Resident Records enjoying the synth and drums and vocals from Georgia.
And Finally…
Sadly it was all over way to quickly. The crowd, and myself, could easily have managed a few more songs! The sound in store was first class, everything was crisp and you could hear every word from Georgia.

As I say well done to Georgia for a super 30 minute slot. Safe to say we all enjoyed that! I was going to grab the vinyl but was off out to photo a gig in Lewes, so will be dropping into the store ASAP to grab a copy.
Well done to the Resident Records team for putting on a top in store. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and a shout to the guys who did the sound. It was the first time I had been to an in-store performance there. I hope I can get to go back for more!
Georgia has a new album out and it is called Seeking Thrills. I just hope she brings her music back to Brighton soon.
Georgia is out there on Social Media and you can find her website here. She has a Facebook page also.
