Kiss or a SNOG

SNOG The KISS Tribute band played in Brighton at Concorde 2.
If you want big rock n roll, more make up than is healthy, blood, explosions and a gig you won’t forget, then SNOG The KISS Tribute Band are the guys to see.”

“KISS has shaken the world of rock since they burst onto the scene in the 70’s, delivering explosive, memorable shows for over 40 years. SNOG has styled their show on the very best. Their versions of Paul, Gene, Ace and Peter are authentic, and the act is packed full of unforgettable moments. You’ll leave singing fist-pumping anthems and rockin’ that air guitar with your tongue hanging out – just like Gene!”

A sizeable crowd had gathered at Concorde 2 for a night of live rock, a battle if you like – Guns N Roses vs KISS. A huge variety of rock and metal T shirts being worn tonight. I even saw SNOG T shirts! Cool. So these guys have fans who follow them as they play gigs.

Snog were on first and as I say they started with quite a crowd and by the time they had finished the venue was pretty full, as the sounds these guys were producing were pretty good and nice and loud! The lighting guys had given Snog a pretty good set up and thankfully the finger on the trigger of the smoke machine relented for a while, so everyone had a good view.

From a distance these guys looked the part. The big hair, the clothes and the platforms and they looked pretty authentic. The sound these guys made was not far off the originals. The night was promised to be a 70’s KISS style show featuring the iconic make up, the costumes, and a selection of KISS classics!

“All right Brighton….. You want the best… Well they couldn’t make it, so tonight…… SNOG!

SNOG: THE SET

SNOG took to the stage, a shake of the hair and some serious pouting started up the set with Deuce. These guys were here to entertain and certainly engaged with the crowd from the opening song. Next up we got Crazy Crazy Nights and that blasted into Detroit Rock City.  As I say the power these guys were running and the songs drew people in from outside and the bar in Concorde 2. Nice opening salvo fellas..

The all out stadium anthem shaker came at us next Shout It Out Loud, with Tears Are Falling following hot on its heels. This was turning into a rather good all rockin’ KISS tribute. The guys didn’t stop for breath. Cold Gin and another classic Love Gun.  No slow numbers tonight! Just a fine selection of songs to join in with, and the Brighton crowd didn’t let anyone down. Fine voices Brighton!

A stunning rendition of Lick It Up was fired at us. The guys nailing a solid Kiss sound on this one and that opening riff was enough to adrenalise the crowd even more. Brilliant. I Was Made for Loving You was next, and again SNOG stepped it up a notch.  This was quite a short set, just over 30 minutes but SNOG worked damn hard. It was hotter than hell in Concorde 2 and you could see a stream of constant sweat leaking through “Genes” armour. Rock and Roll All Night heralded the end of the set…. or so we thought…

We were then told they were going to squeeze in one more song, and it was the show stopping God Gave Rock and Roll To You. Now thats how you finish a set, leaving your crowd dripping with sweat and wanting more.

A VIDEO – Come On – shout it out loud!

Enjoy a 3 song mixer from SNOG!

Sadly no blood spitting or pyros tonight, not sure why, but SNOG gave a thundering solid performance and they got a fabulous Brighton cheer as they left the stage. You could just tell these guys were having fun, but make no mistake they could throw the moves and know how to do justice to these songs – Live! The sheer energy and enthusiasm rubbed off onto the crowd who in turn also seemed to be having a damn good time! Well played and they are worth a visit if they head back down this way.

Do ya fancy a Kiss or a Snog? Well played guys.
